Our Story

There was a time I stood with my 3 children with black bags , homeless grief stricken mess, to an award winning gallery artist. I learned that only when I could accept lessons and truly believe in myself was I able to live again , I made a decision to go back and study jewellery design and manufacturing, Applied Arts and ofcourse contemporary art practice. Art was my therapy and design was my emotional responses to living in a world I found difficult to understand. As well as unique Purple Pony products you will find interesting articles, events and open days. Kelly is also working towards art psychotherapy training. Art psychotherapy workshops save lives. Supporting recovery, mental health illness and domestic violence survivor's Purple Pony Studios aim is to create a safe environment to get creative.

“We started a 10 years ago with some beads and oracle cards , I realised had found something that made me happy ..” After studying silversmithing and jewellery design I fell in love with the art of the maker . I knew then that to make art was like finding balance between being mum and being kelly, lets face it ART is fun and means my daughters and grandchildren can join in. A family run shop with my daughter where you can purchase merchandise and complete one off art pieces. I am currently studying my degree contemporary art practice at the University of West of Scotland lucky for me this is facilitated within the fine art department of city of glasgow college. I have experience in the field of art therapy approaches and I look forward to continuing with my studies aswell as being involved with community art and well-being events.
